Cinematic Sunrise - Warped Tour

I was pretty busy this weekend with Warped Tour and BB King. Between the two shows, I shot a little over 3,000 pictures total. I spend the past two days in Lightroom editing all of them before I leave for vacation. Check out the new galleries here.

Speaking of vacation, keep checking this blog for updates on the road. If I have access to the internet, I will update as much as I can.

Michigan Central Station

Met up with David (DK), Brad and our special guest, Seth. I love the train station in the rain, it really sets the mood.  Of all days to forget things, I forgot my tripod. Go figure. All of these shots are hand held with the widest aperture possible making everything seem a little soft. Oh well, maybe next time.

Food Recommendation

Since I’ve decided to keep this blog updated on a regular basis, I’ll actually start using this as a blog instead of a photo blog.

I was taking pictures of VAIRON at Ghetto Recorders all day yesterday for their album cover/artwork. Ashley (Derek’s wife) and I decided to check out The Park Bar across the street for some food. The guys were raving about the food and beer, so we figured we’d give it a shot. It was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. The Park Bar (which is right across the street from Comerica Park) has the best food, beer and customer service in the metro-Detroit area.

If you know me, you’ll know that I don’t really drink much, let alone beer. They had a lot of local brews and I was in the mood try something new. Derek recommended that I try the Vanilla Java Porter beer. It was amazing. It tastes like chocolate milk. Be sure to try the Dragonmead’s Final Absolution. It’s sweet like honey and it’s 11.0% alcohol. It’s a win-win situation with this bar.

So in short, next time you have some free time while you’re in Detroit, make it a note to stop by The Park Bar. It’s the best food and drink you’ll have in a long time (and super cheap too!).

Introduction Post

This must be about my 50th blog intro post. I start a blog and delete it a month later because I never keep it updated. Anyway, I’ll try to keep this updated more than once or twice a year. It’ll probably be a lot of nonsense and/or lots of photo posts. The purpose of this blog is to serve as a temporary home for photos that haven’t quite made it to my main site yet. Check out my livejournal, that’s updated on a regular basis. A lot of people have been asking me what camera I use, check the equipment list before leaving comments about it. I just bought a new lens and I’m having a lot of fun with it, so you can expect a lot of photo updates as I play around with it. Onto the photos…
